6 months Pregnant -Entering into 7 mo/Final Trimester

I am now 28 weeks along and had my glucose test today. I actually did pretty well with it and the sugary drink was very sweet (it kind of hurt my teeth) but I chugged it. After about an hour they draw your blood and this is where I usually have the difficulty. Thank God for a great nurse, she was so fast that I barely knew I had a needle in my arm. The glucose tests lets the Dr know if I have high blood sugar and need to take the 3 hour Glucose test (which I hear is horrible). The reason for the tests are to ensure that I don't have Gestational Diabetes which sometimes can occur in pregnancy. I hopefully passed this test and should find out in a few days if I didn't. Keep your fingers crossed because I really don't want to go thought the 3 hour test. However, I've read that between 15-23% of pregnant women fail this test and need to take the 3 hour test to confirm.

I am now seeing the Dr. every 2 weeks and she said the baby sounded great. She took measurements, but I can't recall what she said (pregnancy memory, lol). I've gained some more weight and was given the talk, so I will have to be a little better behaved and maybe add a little more exercise to my life. Kudos to Bobby who did not rat me out, since he knows my everyday diet and has been there during my splurges :) Thanks honey! My next Dr. appt is on the 21st and our 4D ultra sound is on the 20th! We will post photos.

5 Months

Here I am at 5 month's preggo! So exciting...my belly is getting so big! I just had my OB appt on Monday, Feb 8th and all is well. Baby's heart beat is in the 140's so she is moving around quite nicely. Bobby is working hard on our nursery. We registered at Babies R Us, Target and Baby Depot (at Burlington Coat Factory) last weekend. We also registered for a labor & delivery class at the end of the month. I will fill you in once we complete it.

We're having a...

So yesterday I had to see the dr a bit earlier than what I had planned. Everything is fine and the dr. said to just be careful, don't lift anything too heavy and drink plenty of H2O. Since we were there, they went ahead and did the ultrasound and and Bobby and I are so excited to announce that we are having a baby girl!!!! Also, the baby is measuring at her expected due date (which is rare, they are usually a bit off). Her heart beat was 143 and she looks very healthy. I'll post ultrasound pics later.

End of 4th month-18 weeks

This weekend I celebrated my 30th birthday and I couldn't have been happier. I feel very fortunate to have a loving husband, a great family and circle of friends and to be expecting our 1st baby. I think the timing is perfect, as we begin this new chapter of our life. I feel that I am as ready as I think I'll ever be. It's amazing but this week, my belly just decided to pop out more, I've been slowly gaining weight and feeling thicker, but now I can definitely see a belly!

Maternity Pants & Jan OB appt

At 16 weeks, I've finally decided to take the plunge and wear maternity pants! All of my regular clothes/pants were just getting too snug and uncomfortable, so I decided to go to Motherhood at Wiregrass. It was great! You could really spend a fortune there and I don't even have a belly yet. I purchased 2 pairs of Maternity jeans and a shirt and I wore the jeans (too early for the shirt) to work on Monday. They are awesome! I'm so happy I made the switch.

On Saturday night at Church, I am pretty confident that I felt the baby move to the loud band music. It felt like little bubbles in my lowere abdomen. It was awesome! I haven't felt it since, but I'm sure there is much more to come.

My monthly OB visit was yesterday and we saw another Dr., so I suppose I'm rotating through all 4 Drs. She seemed really nice and very laid back. Good with me taking Benadryl, Tylenol and having a small glass of wine on my 30th B-day! I gained 6lbs....so I'm getting bigger, but with the holidays that would have been expected whether I am pregnant or not...lol ;D

Next month we will find out the sex of the baby as long as he or she cooperates. I will keep you posted.
